The V Congress of Children’s Doctors of the Moscow Region with International Participation “Pediatrics as Art” started today, September 3, in the Arkhangelskoye Museum-Reserve. The organizers of the large-scale event were the Scientific Research Institute of Childhood and the Ministry of Health of the region. Like previous meetings, the current Congress sets important goals: the development of a single interdisciplinary educational platform for children’s doctors of Russia and the CIS, the exchange of experience, and the improvement of medical care for children.
As part of the opening of the Congress, guests were shown the new Children’s Clinical Center named after L. Roshal in Krasnogorsk. The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin personally visited the medical institution, launching its work. The center has 28 departments in various medical profiles.
“Every year, about 15 thousand children will be able to receive inpatient treatment here. Another 150 thousand will be able to undergo outpatient examinations. More than 1,600 highly qualified specialists in 28 medical profiles will work within these walls. Including children with congenital heart defects, diabetes and severe neurological diseases. The only pediatric maxillofacial surgery department in the Moscow region has also been opened here. The center will be able to provide high-quality multidisciplinary care to patients from 0 to 18 years old,” said Tatyana Shapovalenko, chief physician of the L. Roshal Children’s Clinical Center.
The Minister of Healthcare of the Moscow Region, Alexey Sapanyuk, spoke at the grand opening of the Congress. The head of the department particularly emphasized that the work of pediatricians requires enormous dedication, attention, and professionalism. It is on the shoulders of pediatricians that the responsibility for a healthy generation and our common future lies.
In turn, the chief pediatrician of the Moscow region, director of the Scientific Research Institute of Childhood, Professor Niso Odinaeva noted that thanks to such a large-scale communication platform, specialists have the opportunity not only to exchange experiences, but also to implement modern technologies for diagnostics, treatment and prevention of diseases in children.
“For 5 years, the Congress of Children’s Doctors of the Moscow Region has been a flagship event in pediatrics not only in the Moscow Region, but also in Russia. Here you can personally communicate with leaders in healthcare, recognized experts not only in the Moscow Region, but also in our country. Important events of the Congress this year will be the forum dedicated to rare diseases “Orpheus”, the international school on cystic fibrosis, the forum of nurses and much more,” noted the director of the Scientific Research Clinical Institute of Childhood Niso Odinaeva.
