First-Step, an EASPD member organisation from Israel, has recently released a book on Early Childhood Intervention. Whether you’re a parent, educator, or caregiver, the book offers useful insights and practical solutions to help children with special needs thrive.

“Daring to Dream: An Empowering Approach for Parents of Children with Special Needs” is available for purchase in both print and e-book formats, and offers practical tools and motivational guidance to support children’s development. The author is Shai Silberbusch, child development expert and founder of the First-Step Method with over 35 years of experience in the field of child development. His approach challenges traditional thinking, focusing on fostering a “can-do” environment and empowering both children and parents to exceed expectations. Through the stories of Ava (ages 1-2), Ellie (ages 3-5), and Frederico (ages 8-9), Silberbusch demonstrates the remarkable progress in children development that can be achieved when they receive tailored support. These stories offer hope, showing that no matter the challenges, there is always potential for growth.

In the practical section of the book, Silberbusch addresses eight common parenting challenges, including sleep, feeding, and sibling relationships, from the perspective of children with special needs. Each chapter provides actionable advice and exercises that parents can use to help their children reach new milestones. The book’s message is simple but deep: dare to dream for your child, and they can achieve what was once thought impossible.
