The Research Clinical Institute of Childhood was visited by an expert in the field of infant and child development, as well as a teacher of the Feldenkrais method, Shai Zilberbush from Israel. He held an open lesson for mothers and medical staff, where he spoke in detail about the unique First Step method. As part of the lesson, a practical lesson was held, where the specialist introduced the method in detail, demonstrating it on children with special needs.
“For over 30 years, Shai Zilberbush has been working in Europe and rehabilitating children with special needs, helping their families. Based on extensive knowledge from the Feldenkrais method, adding the results of observations and practical experience of a father of three children, Mr. Zilberbush developed a unique First Step method for children from birth to 14 months. And today, as part of the lesson, it was mastered by doctors from the NIKI of Childhood. We are pleased with this cooperation, since the exchange of experience with Israeli colleagues will allow doctors from the Institute of Childhood to improve their professional level,” said the chief pediatrician of the Moscow region, director of the NIKI of Childhood, Professor Niso Odinaeva.
The First Step method has existed for over 25 years. Its goal is to see how a baby develops from birth, to create ideal conditions for harmonious growth. This program is designed specifically for children with developmental delays and special needs. The method is applicable to a wide range of diseases, including: hereditary pathologies, conditions after injuries, strokes, brain damage, speech delay, autism disorders, epilepsy, eating disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and much more.
